To help you get to know the stellar VAs on our roster, we love to highlight the incredible individuals who make up our team.

Today, we’re excited to introduce you to one of our outstanding team members, Shauwana Glasgow.

Shauwana Glasgow — Communication Specialist

Shauwana is a versatile Executive Assistant and Customer Service Specialist with over 11 years of experience. With an associate degree in Communication Studies and a strong background in event planning, project management, and digital marketing, she excels in crafting strategic communication plans that drive business success. Known for her exceptional communication skills, Shauwana is a fast learner, dedicated to continuous growth and staying ahead of industry trends. Outside of her professional expertise, she values learning new skills and spending quality time with her family.

Why did you choose to be a VA, and why does this lifestyle work for you?

I chose to be a VA because I realized that I loved helping people, even from a young age. This lifestyle works for me because I get to decide how I spend my time and do what I love at the same time.

What made you choose Trusty Oak?

I chose Trusty Oak because I wanted to work with a company with a solid reputation that would give me autonomy over my hours and allow me to upskill while I work.

What’s your superpower?

My flexibility (ability to fit into almost any role). I have worked in many industries and learned a lot, so if I have to help a fellow VA or even staff for a client, I can because I have the experience. I’m a Jackie of All Trades, lol!

What is your top program/app that makes your life easier as a VA?

As a VA, one of the top programs that makes my life easier is Trello. I love it because it allows me the flexibility I need to keep my tasks organized, collaborate with my clients, and track deadlines so that I remain on track. It also integrates with many other programs that I use, like Calendly and Google Workspace, for a seamless workflow.

What hobbies or Interests do you enjoy?

I know it’s kind of boring, but I love reading, cooking, and learning at least one new thing.

Describe your dream client.

My dream client would be someone who embodies a collaborative spirit and sees the value of the partnership we would create by working together. They would possess exceptional communication skills, be open to constructive feedback and new ideas and suggestions, and be approachable. Also, he or she would understand the importance of autonomy and trust and allow me to take the lead without micromanaging after providing (or working together to come up with) clear goals and expectations).

Thank you for sharing, Shauwana!
