The process looks different depending on whether you’re applying as an Administrative Assistant or joining as Specialist Talent. Some contractors even do both — here’s what to expect for each path.

Yes. All of our contractors must be based in the U.S. This is a non-negotiable requirement for joining our Talent Network.

No, joining our network provides access to opportunities, not guaranteed work. This represents supplemental work opportunities rather than full-time employment.

No. You can choose how much or how little you work. RAAs typically work 5–15 hours per week with subscription clients, while Specialists often vary their workload based on projects.

Yes. Some of our contractors choose to do both — providing steady admin support as an RAA while also taking on specialist projects. Let us know during onboarding if you’re interested and we’ll guide you through the right vetting steps.

For Administrative Assistants

Typically 4–6 weeks, including application review, interview, background check, references, and onboarding.

Most RAAs serve subscription clients, though ad hoc and project-based work may also be part of the mix. On average, RAAs work about 10–15 hours per week for Trusty Oak clients.

Administrative Assistants are paid hourly on a tiered scale based on total billed hours with Trusty Oak clients. Everyone starts at $21.50/hour and earns a $1/hour increase every 300 billed hours, up to $25.50/hour.

For Specialist Talent

We are actively looking for specialists in Finance/Accounting, Human Resources, Marketing/Content Creation, Product/UX/UI, Software Development/IT, Sales/Business Development, Operations/Administration, and Customer Success.

No. You can start by joining the alerts list and only complete vetting if you pursue a specific opportunity. If you’d like to be considered for faster matches, you can opt to complete the full vetting upfront.

Specialists may work on subscription retainers, ad hoc support, or project-based work.

Specialists set their own rates, with our guidance to ensure they’re competitive and aligned with client expectations.
