Why did you choose to be a VA and why does this lifestyle work for you?
The VA lifestyle works for me because I’m a working mom with school-age kiddos. I want to have a career and meaningful work to occupy my hours while the kids are in school. But I also appreciate the flexibility of being there for drop-off and pick-up, for homework help in the afternoons, and remote work when my kids inevitably get sick. I chose to be a VA because it gives me the opportunity for meaningful work and to be present for my family.
What made you choose Trusty Oak?
I chose Trusty Oak because I appreciated they did the hard work of connecting me with clients and supporting me as I was on-boarded into new work. I also really love how Trusty Oak’s value of keep growing applies to VAs, with all the amazing resources and learning opportunities Trusty Oak provides their VAs so we can excel in our skills.
What’s your superpower?
My superpower is taking the grand mission and vision statements of my clients and interpreting them into a marketing strategy that can easily be communicated in their online spaces to grow an engaged community of loyal followers.
Describe your favorite place to work from.
My favorite place to work from is my quiet home while my kids are at school. The next best place is a cool public library by a window overlooking the city.
What is your top program/app that makes your life easier as a VA?
ClickUp was a game-changer for me in organizing all my various tasks for my clients. I can create tasks and sub-tasks, give them due dates, and drop them into my daily calendar in ideal time slots so my work hours are planned for me. It even syncs with my Google calendar so all my work blocks are on my Google calendar.
What hobbies or interests do you enjoy?
I love to read and look forward to reading every evening before I go to sleep.
Describe your dream client.
My dream client is a business owner or small team with a clear passion and purpose but needs some help communicating that effectively. Organized is also a plus!
