Established in 2019 and headquartered in Reston, Virginia, Scout Space Inc. is a leading in-space observation service provider focused on space security and comprehensive Space Domain Awareness (SDA). Scout’s in-space products and services, first launched in 2021, allow spacecraft to see and understand things around them while in orbit.
Since June of 2021, Scout has been successfully operating in space, following the launch of Sparrow (the production version of Scout’s Scout-Vision system) proximity operation systems.
Their mission is to create a future where space operations are safe and sustainable. They believe that can only be achieved if satellites on orbit can see and learn from their surroundings and make decisions on their own. To achieve this goal of satellite autonomy, they provide their customers with hosted optical payload packages with sensing tools, processing algorithms, and responsive autonomy capabilities for in-space applications.
Scout’s Trusty Oak Story
This story started in August 2021 when co-founder Eric Ingram, the leader of a rapidly growing business, was looking for executive assistant support. Eric’s primary needs included email and calendar management, HubSpot support, and meeting minutes. Eric was matched with VA Kelly Ricketts. Kelly supported Scout Space and Eric for about a year before the company bought out Kelly’s contract and hired her full-time.
Fast-forward to January 2023. Kelly contacted Trusty Oak to secure coverage for her executive assistant role and support for another Scout executive during her maternity leave. VA Celestine Crews stepped in to provide that support until Kelly returned to work in May.
Scout Space’s business growth has not slowed down, and once again, Kelly reached out to Trusty Oak in Sep 2023 in search of an executive assistant for the new VP of Growth. Since then, Scout and Kelly have been working with Trusty Oak VA, Rachel Silbereis. Rachel is an expert at streamlining workflows and has an affinity for systems and technology, organization, and follow-through. At Scout, she assists with a wide variety of tasks that have evolved over time. This includes executive assistance for the CSO and COO, tax account reconciliation, NDA management, expense management, event planning, and HR admin. Rachel has quickly become a trusted and valuable member of the Scout Space team.
