Kristin Nethken — Admin Extraordinaire

Kristin began her career in a medical office during high school, managing tasks like call handling and scheduling. Her adaptability allowed her to work in various medical offices through temp agencies while frequently relocating due to her husband’s military service. In 2010, she transitioned to remote work after settling in Oregon and has since specialized as a virtual assistant in email and calendar management, travel coordination, research, and project management. With an Associate of Science degree and a paralegal certificate, Kristin continuously enhances her skills through online courses. Now residing in Wyoming, she enjoys outdoor activities and volunteers for animal rescues, particularly helping senior and disabled dogs. In her free time, she engages in nature, reading, writing, photography, video games, and DIY projects with her husband. Driven by her motto, “Work smarter, not harder,” Kristin ensures efficient support for her clients.

Why did you choose to be a VA and why does this lifestyle work for you?

I started this work because my daily commute was too long, I am not the kind of person who can sit still. Once I started working virtually I could not go back. This was back in 2010 so once Covid hit, it made remote work more known. I like this because it means my time to complete my own life to-do list is more flexible. I get to work with my little doggies and stop and cuddle with them anytime. I can work anywhere anytime and this is amazing.

When reading reviews for places where someone like me could find work, Trusty Oak had a lot of good buzz and that attracted me instantly.

I really love to learn new things, skills, techniques, anything!
